Description
Zovirax Eye Ointment (Acyclovir) is an antiviral medication applied to the eyes. It works by blocking the growth and replication of the herpes simplex virus. This ointment allows the affected eye to heal by reducing the viral presence. However, Zovirax does not eradicate the virus from the body.
You can buy Zovirax Eye Ointment with a prescription from your doctor. The price of the ointment may vary depending on the retailer and the quantity required for your specific treatment plan.

Directions
First, wash your hands thoroughly to avoid any contamination. Next, gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket between the eyelid and the eyeball. Squeeze a thin ribbon of ointment into the pocket, taking care not to touch the tip against any surface. After applying, close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes, allowing the ointment to distribute evenly across the eye. If there is any excess ointment, gently wipe it away with a clean tissue.
Make sure to close the ointment tube tightly after use. Additionally, it's important to use the ointment as soon as you notice any symptoms of herpes infection to maximize its effectiveness. Avoid wearing contact lenses while using the ointment.
The standard dosage and frequency of application might vary depending on the severity of the infection and your doctor's prescription. This medicine is for ophthalmic use only and should not be used for other purposes or on other areas of the body.
