Description
Yosprala is a combination drug that contains aspirin and omeprazole. Aspirin is used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
- Reduction of heart attack and death risk in people with angina
- Reduction of heart attack and death risk in people with a prior heart attack history
- Reduction of stroke and death risk in people with a prior stroke history
Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). This class of drugs greatly increases the risk of gastric ulcers. Omeprazole is included to reduce the stroke risk.
Directions
Take one tablet by mouth 60 minutes before a meal.
Do not crush, chew, or dissolve the tablet before taking it.

- Aspirin-omeprazole 81-40 mg
- Aspirin-omeprazole 325-40 mg

Cautions
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication.
Use caution if you have a bleeding or clotting disorder.
Use caution if you have a history of kidney problems.
Long-term usage of omeprazole has been associated with a greater risk of bone fracture.
Use caution if you have a history of liver problems.

Yosprala side effects may include:
- Diarrhea
- Gastric polyp
- Gastritis
- Gastrointestinal hemorrhage
- Intestinal obstruction
- Nausea
- Non Cardiac chest pain
- Upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage
