Description
Verquvo (vericiguat) is used to decrease the risk of cardiovascular death and heart failure hospitalization in patients who are experiencing symptoms of long-lasting heart failure with an ejection fraction less than 45% and have recently been hospitalized or received IV medications for heart failure.
Verquvo is classified as a soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator.

Directions
Verquvo is available in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg tablets.
The recommended initial dose is 2.5 mg by mouth one time a day with food. The tablets can be crushed and mixed with water if you are unable to swallow the tablets whole.
Your doctor may change your dose depending on how well you respond to the medication.
Ingredients
Each tablet contains the active ingredient, vericiguat.
Contraindications
Do not take Verquvo if you are taking another sGC stimulator. If you are not sure if you are taking an sGC stimulator, ask your doctor.
Do not take Verquvo if you are pregnant.
Cautions

- Do not administer VERQUVO to a pregnant female because it may cause fetal harm.
- Females of reproductive potential: Exclude pregnancy before the start of treatment. To prevent pregnancy, females of reproductive potential must use effective forms of contraception during treatment and for one month after stopping treatment.

- Before you start taking Verquvo, inform your doctor:
- Of all the medications you take. These include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
- Of your allergies.
- Of your health conditions.
- If you are pregnant or have plans to become pregnant.
- If you are breastfeeding or have plans to breastfeed.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Verquvo include low blood pressure and anemia.
Call your doctor right away if you experience negative or persistent side effects.
