Description
Tezspire (tezepelumab-ekko) is an injectable medication prescribed to treat severe asthma in adults and pediatric patients who are at least 12 years of age.
Tezspire is available as a subcutaneous injection (underneath the skin):
- 210 mg/1.91 mL(110 mg/mL) solution in a single-dose glass vial
- 210 mg/1.91 mL(110 mg/mL) solution in a single-dose pre-filled syringe
- 210 mg/1.91 mL(110 mg/mL) solution a single-dose pre-filled pen
Tezspire Mechanism of Action: Tezspire is classified as a thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) blocker, meaning it blocks TSLP, which is part of the asthma inflammatory cascade. Blocking TSLP helps reduce airway inflammation, making breathing easier. However, the mechanism of action of Tezspire in asthma is not definitively known.

Ingredients
The active ingredient in Tezspire is tezepelumab-ekko.
Inactive ingredients include glacial acetic acid, L-proline, polysorbate 80, sodium hydroxide, and water for injection.
Contraindications
Patients with an allergy to tezepelumab-ekko or to any of the excipients in Tezspire should not use it.

- Pre-existing parasitic (Helminth) infections should be treated before starting Tezspire
- Live vaccines should be avoided
Side Effects
Pharyngitis, joint pain, and back pain are common Tezspire side effects; however, other side effects may also occur.
