Description
Stendra (avanafil) is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction.
Directions
Follow your prescription's instructions and ask your doctor or pharmacist about any questions or concerns you have.
Stendra is available in 50 mg, 100 mg, and 200 mg oral tablets.
Most patients start out taking a dosage of 100 mg by mouth about 30 minutes before sexual activity, as needed. Do not take it more than one time a day. You may take Stendra with or without food.
Do not take Stendra with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. Ask your doctor if you are unsure whether or not you are taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Your dose may be adjusted if you are taking moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors. Ask your doctor if you are unsure whether or not you are taking moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Your dose may also be adjusted if you are taking an alpha-blocker. Ask your doctor if you are unsure whether or not you are taking an alpha-blocker.
Ingredients
Avanfil, a phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, is the active ingredient contained in each Stendra tablet. The inactive ingredients included in each tablet are mannitol, fumaric acid, hydroxypropylcellulose, low substituted hydroxypropylcellulose, calcium carbonate, magnesium stearate, and ferric oxide yellow.

Contraindications
Do not take Stendra if you are using organic nitrate in any form.
Do not take Stendra if you are allergic to avanafil or any of the other ingredients or excipients contained in Stendra.
Cautions
- Before you start taking Stendra, discuss the following with your doctor:
- Your allergies
- Your health problems
- Any medications you take, including prescription, nonprescription, vitamins, and herbal supplements
- You should not take Stendra if you have been advised to avoid sexual activity due to underlying cardiovascular problems or other reasons.
- Taking Stendra with blood pressure medications or large quantities of alcohol can cause low blood pressure.
- If you have an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, get emergency care immediately.
- If you experience sudden vision loss in one or both of your eyes, stop taking Stendra and get emergency care immediately. This could be a sign of Non Arteritic Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION). Your risk may be higher if you have had NAION.
- If you experience a decrease in hearing or hearing loss, stop taking Stendra and get emergency care immediately.
Side Effects
Stendra can cause side effects such as headache, flushing, nasal congestion, nasopharyngitis, and back pain. These are not all the side effects that can occur with the use of Stendra. Contact your doctor right away if you experience bothersome or persistent side effects.
