Description
Simlandi (adalimumab-ryvk) is a medication given via a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) to treat:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
- Psoriatic arthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Crohn’s disease
- Ulcerative colitis
- Plaque psoriasis
- Hidradenitis suppurativa
- Uveitis
Simlandi is available in 40 mg/0.4 mL single-dose autoinjectors as well as 20 mg/0.2 mL, 40 mg/0.4 mL, and 80 mg/0.8 mL single-dose prefilled syringes.
Directions
Use Simlandi injection as directed by your doctor. Your doctor will determine an appropriate treatment regimen for you.
A healthcare provider should provide you or a caregiver with instructions on how to properly store, prepare, administer, and dispose of Simlandi. The medication should be injected subcutaneously in the thigh or abdomen, and injection sites should be rotated.
Do not share products, needles, or syringes with others.

Ingredients
The active ingredient in Simlandi is adalimumab-ryvk.
Inactive ingredients include polysorbate 80, sodium chloride, sucrose, and Water for Injection. Sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid are added for pH adjustment.
Contraindications
According to the most recent Simlandi Prescribing Information, there are no contraindications.
Cautions
- Simlandi contains the following FDA Boxed Warning:
- The risk for tuberculosis (TB), bacterial sepsis, invasive fungal infections, infections due to other opportunistic pathogens, and other serious infections that can lead to hospitalization or death is increased.
- Simlandi should be discontinued if a patient develops a serious infection or sepsis during treatment.
- A latent test for TB should be performed; treatment should be started before Simlandi is initiated if the result is positive.
- All patients should be monitored for active TB during treatment, even if the initial latent TB test is negative.
- Children and adolescent patients receiving TNF blockers including adalimumab products have developed lymphoma and other malignancies, some of which were fatal.
- Adolescents and young adults with inflammatory bowel disease who were receiving TNF blockers including adalimumab products have developed post-marketing cases of hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL), a rare type of T-cell lymphoma.
- Before you begin receiving treatment with Simlandi, inform your doctor of:
- All the medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Your allergies
- Your current health problems and past medical history
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Simlandi contains the following warnings and precautions:
- Serious infections
- Invasive fungal infections
- Malignancies
- Serious hypersensitivity reactions or anaphylaxis
- Reactivation of hepatitis B virus
- Demyelinating disease
- Low white cell counts
- Worsening or development of heart failure
- Lupus-like syndrome
- Live vaccines: patients should avoid while receiving Simlandi
Side Effects
Infections, injection site reactions, headache, and rash are the most common Simlandi side effects; however, other side effects can also occur.
