Description
Rukobia is a prescription medication specifically indicated for the treatment of HIV-1. Your doctor may prescribe it alongside other antiretroviral drugs. Rukobia is typically reserved for patients who are “treatment experienced” and have tried other treatments.
Directions
The usual dosage is one tablet (600 mg) by mouth twice daily. Rukobia can be taken with or without food.

The active ingredient in Rukobia is fostemsavir.

Cautions
Do not take Rukobia if you are allergic to any ingredients in the medication.
Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all medications you are taking before starting this drug because there are many potential side effects.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of cardiac problems and take any medications that prolong QTc (a measurement of heart rhythm).
Tell your doctor if you have a history of hepatitis B or hepatitis C infection.

- Abdominal pain
- Decreased hemoglobin (grades 3/4)
- Decreased neutrophils (grades 3/4)
- Dermatologic: Pruritus, skin rash
- Diarrhea
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Dysgeusia
- Dyspepsia
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Hypercholesterolemia (grade 3)
- Hyperglycemia (grades 3/4)
- Immune reconstitution syndrome
- Increased direct serum bilirubin (grade 3)
- Increased LDL cholesterol (grades 3/4)
- Increased serum alanine aminotransferase (grades 3/4)
- Increased serum aspartate aminotransferase (grades 3/4)
- Increased serum bilirubin (grades 3/4)
- Increased serum creatine kinase (grades 3/4)
- Increased serum creatinine (grades 3/4)
- Increased serum lipase (grades 3/4)
- Increased serum triglycerides (grades 3/4)
- Increased uric acid (grades 3/4)
- Leukocyte disorder (grades 3/4)
- Myalgia
- Nausea
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Peripheral Sensory Neuropathy
