What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

    Description

Qnasl is a prescription nasal allergy spray used as a seasonal allergy treatment to treat allergic rhinitis. It provides relief from nasal inflammation and irritation plus less of the constant sneezing and runny nose that occurs with seasonal allergy attacks. The medication is a waterless mist and differs from other nasal sprays in that users don't need to sniff it into their nose, and this makes administration much easier and less irritating for many people. Beclomethasone Dipropionate is a corticosteroid that blocks the release of histamines causing the inflammation experienced in the nose causing nasal allergy symptoms.

    Directions

Blow your nose to clear your nostrils.

Remove the protective dust cap by pulling it straight off.

Ensure the nasal actuator tip is clear of foreign objects.

Hold Qnasl device upright and insert the nasal actuator tip into one nostril.

Point device slightly away from the wall between your nostrils while holding your other nostril closed.

Hold breath and press down firmly and completely on the canister to release 1 spray.

Continue to hold your breath for 5 seconds after releasing the spray and then breathe out through your mouth.

Repeat steps for the second spray in the same nostril.

Repeat steps for your other nostril.
