Description
Pertzye is a capsule that contains pancreatic enzymes, including lipase, protease, and amylase. These enzymes naturally occur in the pancreas of healthy individuals. However, some people may need pancreatic enzymes to digest food properly. This drug can be prescribed to people with pancreatic insufficiency, including those with cystic fibrosis.
People with pancreatic insufficiency do not produce enough enzymes to digest their foods properly. Symptoms can include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatty stool.
Pertzye works by breaking down fat and other substances in the food to aid with digestion. This drug should be taken with every meal.
