Penicillin V is an antibiotic that is prescribed to treat various bacterial infections.
Penicillin V is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:
- Oral solution:
- 125 mg/5 mL
- 250 mg/5 mL
- Oral tablet
- 250 mg
- 500 mg
Directions
Penicillin V should be taken exactly as your doctor has prescribed. The full course of antibiotics should be completely finished, even if you start to feel better. Penicillin V should be taken on an empty stomach.

Side Effects
Diarrhea, nausea, fungal infection of the mouth, vomiting, seizures, anemia, kidney problems, allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis), and positive Coombs reaction can occur with the use of Penicillin V medicine.
