Directions
Nplate will be administered subcutaneously (underneath the skin) by a healthcare provider. The doctor will determine appropriate Nplate dosing for you or your child based on weight, other treatments, and platelet response.

Ingredients
The active ingredient in Nplate is romiplostim.
Inactive ingredients include L-histidine, mannitol, polysorbate 20, sucrose, and hydrochloric acid.
Contraindications
According to the most recent Prescribing Information, there are no contraindications to receiving Nplate.
Cautions
- Before you or your child begins treatment with Nplate, tell the doctor about:
- All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you or your child takes
- Your or your child’s allergies
- Your or your child’s current health problems and past medical history
- Your or your child’s pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- Nplate may increase blast cell counts and the risk of progression to acute myelogenous leukemia in some patients with myelodysplastic syndrome
- Nplate may increase platelet counts, which can cause blood clotting problems. Portal vein thrombosis has been reported in patients with chronic liver disease who received Nplate.
- Low platelet counts can occur.
Side Effects
Joint pain, dizziness, problems sleeping, muscle pain, extremity pain, abdominal pain, shoulder pain, indigestion, tingling or numbness, and headache are common Nplate side effects in adults. Contusion, upper respiratory tract infection, and oropharyngeal pain are common Nplate side effects in pediatric patients.
Immediately notify a doctor about any side effects that bother you or your child or side effects that won’t go away.
