A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

    Description

    Moxeza (moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) is an eye drop used to treat bacterial eye infections.

    Moxeza is available in a 4 mL bottle filled with 3 mL of sterile ophthalmic solution of moxifloxacin hydrochloride, 0.5% as base.

    Directions

    Use Moxeza eye drops exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about any questions or concerns you may have about the medication.

    One drop should be placed into the affected eye(s) two times a day for 7 days.

    Ingredients

    Moxeza contains moxifloxacin hydrochloride.

    Contraindications

    Cautions

    • Before you start using Moxeza, talk to your doctor:

    • Contact lenses should not be worn if you have signs or symptoms of an eye infection.

    Side Effects

    Eye irritation, fever, and eye inflammation are possible Moxeza side effects. However, other side effects may also occur. Contact your doctor right away if you have side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
