Description
Moxeza (moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) is an eye drop used to treat bacterial eye infections.
Moxeza is available in a 4 mL bottle filled with 3 mL of sterile ophthalmic solution of moxifloxacin hydrochloride, 0.5% as base.
Directions
Use Moxeza eye drops exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about any questions or concerns you may have about the medication.
One drop should be placed into the affected eye(s) two times a day for 7 days.

Moxeza contains moxifloxacin hydrochloride.
Contraindications
There are no contraindications, or reasons why a person should not use Moxeza, per the most recent Prescribing Information.
Cautions
- Before you start using Moxeza, talk to your doctor:
- About all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use, including other eye drops or ointments
- About your allergies
- About your current health conditions and past medical history
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Moxeza is for use in the eyes only.
- Allergic reactions and anaphylaxis have occurred with systemic moxifloxacin use.
- Using Moxeza for long periods of time may cause overgrowth of bacteria or fungi.
- Contact lenses should not be worn if you have signs or symptoms of an eye infection.
Side Effects
Eye irritation, fever, and eye inflammation are possible Moxeza side effects. However, other side effects may also occur. Contact your doctor right away if you have side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
