Directions
Take Mayzent exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Carefully read the medication guide that comes with your prescription.
Mayzent dosing:
Your doctor will determine an appropriate starting dose for you and will adjust dosing to the recommended maintenance dosage. Do not crush, split, or chew the tablets.
Mayzent storage:
Keep Mayzent tablets at room temperature between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C) for a maximum of 3 months. You may keep unopened Mayzent tablets in the refrigerator between 36°F and 46°F (2°C to 8°C) if you need to store them for longer than 3 months. However, once the containers have been opened, do not place them back in the refrigerator.
Store the medication out of reach of children.

Ingredients
The active ingredient in Mayzent is siponimod.
Inactive ingredients include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, glyceryl dibehenate, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, with a film coating containing iron oxides (black and red iron oxides for the 0.25 mg and 1 mg strengths and red and yellow iron oxides for the 2 mg strength), lecithin (soy), polyvinyl alcohol, talc, titanium dioxide, and xanthan gum.
Contraindications
Patients with any of the following should not receive Mayzent:
- A CYP2C9*3/*3 genotype
- Had a heart attack, unstable angina (a type of chest pain), stroke, mini stroke, hospitalized with decompensated heart failure, or Class III/IV heart failure within in the past 6 months
- Mobitz type II second-degree, third-degree AV block, or sick sinus syndrome, unless the patient has a functioning pacemaker
Cautions
- Before you begin taking Mayzent, talk to your doctor about:
- All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take
- Your allergies
- Your current health problems and past medical history
- Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- Mayzent is associated with the following warnings and precautions:
- Increased risk of infections
- Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy
- Macular edema
- Decreased heart rate and atrioventricular conduction delays
- Respiratory problems
- Liver problems
- Skin cancer
- High blood pressure
- Harm to an unborn baby; effective contraception is recommended for female patients during treatment and for 10 days after stopping treatment with Mayzent
- Live vaccines should not be given to patients while they are receiving treatment with Mayzent and for up to 4 weeks after treatment.
Side Effects
Headache, high blood pressure, and increases in liver enzymes are common Mayzent side effects. However, other side effects may also occur. Immediately inform your doctor of side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
