Description
Ilumya (tildrakizumab-asmn) is an injectable prescription medication used to treat adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.
Ilumya is available in 100 mg/mL single-dose prefilled syringes.
Directions
Your healthcare provider will determine an appropriate treatment regimen for you, including Ilumya dosing.
Your healthcare provider should also teach you or your caregiver how to properly prepare, administer, and discard Ilumya.
Ilumya should be injected underneath the skin of the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Do not share needles or syringes with other people.
For further instructions for use, carefully read the medication guide that comes with your prescription. If you have any questions or concerns, talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
Storing Ilumya:
Store Ilumya in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) in the original carton. Do not freeze or shake.
You may store Ilumya at room temperature at 25°C (77°F) for up to 30 days in the original carton. If you store Ilumya at room temperature, you should not put it back in the refrigerator. Properly dispose of Ilumya if not used within 30 days.
Ingredients
The active ingredient in Ilumya is tildrakizumab-asmn.
Contraindications
Patients with a serious hypersensitivity reaction to Ilumya or to any of its excipients should not receive it.
Cautions
- Before you begin treatment with Ilumya, talk to your healthcare provider about:
- All the medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Your allergies
- Your current health problems and past medical history
- Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- Ilumya may cause a serious allergic reaction and should be stopped immediately if this occurs.
- Ilumya may increase the risk of infection.
- Patients should be evaluated for tuberculosis before receiving Ilumya.
- Patients should not receive live vaccines while being treated with Ilumya.
Side Effects
Upper respiratory infections, injection site reactions, and diarrhea are common Ilumya side effects. However, other side effects may also occur. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
