Description
Flarin (ibuprofen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat rheumatic and muscular pain. It is also used to alleviate joint pain, back pain, nerve pain, migraines, headaches, dental pain, period pain, fevers, and cold and flu symptoms.
Flarin is available in 200 mg capsules for oral administration.

Directions
Take Flarin capsules as directed by your doctor. If you have any questions or concerns, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Flarin dosage for adults and children older than 12 years of age:
- One to two capsules by mouth up to three times a day as needed
- Space each dose by at least 4 hours
- Do not take more than 1,200 mg (6 capsules) within 24 hours
Ingredients
Ibuprofen is the active ingredient in Flarin.
Contraindications
Do not take Flarin if you are allergic to ibuprofen or to any of its other ingredients, aspirin, or other related medications.
Do not take Flarin if you have or have ever had any of the following:
- Worsening asthma, rash, or itchy, runny nose when taking medications that are similar to Flarin
- At least two episodes of a stomach ulcer, perforation, or bleeding
- Stomach bleeding or perforation caused by NSAIDs
Do not take Flarin if you are taking other NSAIDs or 75 mg or more of aspirin.
Do not take Flarin if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
Do not take Flarin if you have severe heart, liver, or kidney disease.
Do not take Flarin if you are younger than 12 years of age.
Cautions
- Before you start taking Flarin, inform your doctor of:
- All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take
- Your allergies
- Your health conditions and past medical history
- Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- Anti-inflammatory medications like Flarin may be associated with an increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially at high doses.
- Flarin can cause skin reactions. Seek medical care right away if you develop skin rashes, lesions, blisters, or any other adverse reaction.
- Although rare, Flarin can cause skin rashes that may be life-threatening. Stop taking Flarin and seek emergency care right away if you develop a skin rash or any other sign of an allergic reaction.
Side Effects
Flarin medication can cause side effects such as increased bleeding, allergic reactions, skin reactions, stomach pain, indigestion, heartburn, headache, and vomiting; however, other side effects may also occur. Call your doctor right away if you have side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
