Description
Dristan is a nasal decongestant that temporarily relieves nasal congestion caused by allergies, sinusitis, or the common cold. It belongs to a class of medications known as alpha-adrenergic agonists, which constrict blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion.
Nasal congestion is a common symptom of upper respiratory tract (URI) infections and respiratory allergies. By constricting blood vessels in the sinuses, it causes the relaxation of sinus passages, which helps to relieve congestion.
Directions
Shake the bottle gently before use and remove the protective cap. Hold the bottle upright and insert the nozzle into one nostril while closing the other with your finger. Press firmly on the spray pump to release the medication while inhaling gently through your nose. Repeat the process for the other nostril if required.
Ingredients
The active ingredient in Dristan is oxymetazoline.

Certain medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or urinary problems, may require special precautions or dose adjustments when using oxymetazoline.
If congestion does not improve or worsens after several days of using oxymetazoline, consult your healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance. They can assess symptoms and determine if alternative treatments or further medical interventions are necessary.
