    Description

    Dovato (dolutegravir/lamivudine) is a combination drug product used to treat Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). It works by disrupting the virus's ability to replicate. You can buy Dovato as a 50mg/300mg tablet. Store your Dovato tablets at room temperature. 

    Directions

    • You can take Dovato without regard to meals.
    • Dovato can be affected by foods and products that contain calcium, magnesium, iron, and aluminum. Take Dovato at least two hours before, or six hours after consuming any of the listed products.
    • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the dose you missed and continue with your regular schedule.
    • Do not take two doses of Dovato at the same time.
    • The usual dose for Dovato is one tablet once per day.

    • Dovato has a black box warning that reads: PATIENTS CO-INFECTED WITH HEPATITIS B VIRUS (HBV) AND HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS (HIV-1): EMERGENCE OF LAMIVUDINE-RESISTANT HBV AND EXACERBATIONS OF HBV
    • Do not take Dovato if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
    • Dovato can interact with other drugs. Talk to your doctor about any other medications you are taking before starting Dovato.
    • Do not take Dovato if you are currently using dofetilide. The reaction is potentially life-threatening.
    • If you have underlying liver disease, you could be a higher risk of severe adverse effects. Discuss your risk with your physician.
    • If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, discuss the risks of Dovato with your physician. Dovato could cause harm to a fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy.
    • Dovato can cause a condition called Immune Reconstitution Syndrome. Discuss the risk with your physician.
