Directions
Take Cerdelga exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Your doctor will decide on appropriate Cerdelga dosing for you based on your CYP2D6 genotype as determined by an FDA-cleared test.
You should not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking Cerdelga. Swallow the capsules whole; they should not be crushed, dissolved, or opened.
Keep Cerdelga stored between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F) and out of children’s reach.

Ingredients
The active ingredient in Cerdelga is eliglustat.
Inactive ingredients include candurin silver fine, FD&C blue 2, gelatin, glyceryl behenate, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, and yellow iron oxide.
Contraindications
Contraindications depend on your CYP2D6 genotype:
Extensive metabolizers (EMs)
- Taking a strong or moderate CYP2D6 inhibitor with a strong or moderate CYP3A inhibitor
- Moderate or severe liver impairment
- Mild liver impairment taking a strong or moderate CYP2D6 inhibitor
Immediate metabolizers (IMs)
- Taking a strong or moderate CYP2D6 inhibitor with a strong or moderate CYP3A inhibitor
- Taking a strong CYP3A inhibitor
- Any degree of liver impairment
Poor metabolizers (PMs)
- Taking a strong CYP3A inhibitor
- Any degree of liver impairment
Cautions
- Before you start taking Cerdelga, inform your doctor of:
- All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take
- Your allergies
- Your current health problems and past medical history
- Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- Cerdelga is not recommended in patients who have pre-existing heart disease, long QT syndrome, and are receiving Class IA or Class III antiarrhythmics.
Side Effects
Fatigue, headache, nausea, diarrhea, back pain, pain in the arms and legs, and upper abdominal pain are some Cerdelga side effects; however, other side effects may also occur.
Inform your doctor right away if you have side effects that bother you or won't go away.
