Briviact is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:
Tablets: 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg
Oral solution: 10 mg/mL
Injection: 50 mg/5 mL single-dose vial
Briviact Dosing
Adults who are 16 years of age and older:
Recommended starting dose for monotherapy or adjunctive treatment: 50 mg twice daily
Pediatric patients who are 1 month old to less than 16 years old:
The dose is based on body weight and given by mouth twice daily.
Injection:
The intravenous injection is reserved for use only when oral administration is not an option.
The dose may be adjusted in patients who have liver problems.

Contraindications
Discuss your allergies with your doctor. Do not take Briviact if you are allergic to brivaracetam or any of its other ingredients.
Cautions
- Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
- Briviact can increase the risk for suicidal behavior or ideation. Tell your doctor right away if you experience mood or behavioral changes or if you develop suicidal thoughts, behavior, ideation, or self harm.
- Briviact can cause drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, or problems with coordination. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Briviact affects you.
- Briviact can cause psychotic symptoms, depression, irritability, anxiety, and aggression. Tell your doctor right away if you develop any behavioral reactions.
- Do not suddenly stop taking Briviact. Briviact should be gradually tapered when being discontinued due to the risk of increased seizures and status epilepticus.
- Briviact may cause harm to an unborn fetus. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
- Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Benefits versus risks should be taken into consideration.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Briviact include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. These are not all of the possible side effects, so tell your doctor right away if you develop side effects that are bothersome or won't go away.
