Description
Bezalip (Bezafibrate) is a medication used to help lower high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, especially when dietary changes have not been effective. Available in a tablet form, Bezalip is generally prescribed for patients at risk of heart disease or stroke due to elevated lipid levels.

Directions
Bezalip is taken as an oral tablet. The usual recommended dose is one Bezalip 200 mg tablet taken two or three times daily with food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.
Ingredients
The active ingredient in Bezalip is bezafibrate. Each Bezalip 200 mg tablet contains 200 mg of bezafibrate.
Contraindications
Do not take Bezalip if you have any of the following:
- Liver or kidney disease
- Gallbladder disease
- Allergy to bezafibrate or any other ingredients in Bezalip
You should also avoid Bezalip if you are elderly, pregnant, or breastfeeding due to potential adverse effects.
Cautions
- Before you start taking Bezalip, tell your doctor:
- About any medications you are taking, including herbal supplements or over-the-counter drugs
- About any health conditions you have
- If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- If you have a history of muscle pain or weakness, as Bezalip may cause muscle problems
- Bezalip can increase the sensitivity of the skin to sunlight, so use sunscreen and protective clothing when exposed to the sun.
- Regular blood tests may be required to monitor your condition while taking Bezalip.
Side Effects
The most common Bezalip side effects include gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation, headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscle pain or weakness, and skin rash. If you experience any side effects that are severe or persist, contact your doctor immediately.
Rare but serious side effects may include gallstones, pancreatitis, liver or kidney problems, and blood disorders. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice unexplained muscle pain or weakness, yellowing of the eyes or skin, unusual bleeding or bruising, or persistent stomach pain.
