Directions
Use ArmonAir Digihaler as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will determine an appropriate dose for you based on therapies you’ve used before and how severe your asthma is.
Carefully read the medication guide that comes with your prescription for more information on product use. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any questions or concerns you have regarding the use of ArmonAir Digihaler.
Recommended ArmonAir Digihaler dosing: Inhale one puff by mouth two times a day. Use with a spacer or volume holding chamber is not recommended.
Storage: ArmonAir Digihaler should be stored in its foil pouch until it will be immediately used. Store in a dry place at room temperature between 15°F and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Keep out of extreme hot, cold, or humid conditions. Keep away from children. Properly discard ArmonAir Digihaler 30 days after opening or when the counter reads “0”, whichever comes first.
Ingredients
The active ingredient in ArmonAir Digihaler is fluticasone propionate.
The inactive ingredient includes alpha lactose monohydrate (contains milk proteins).
Contraindications
ArmonAir Digihaler should not be used as primary treatment of status asthmaticus or other acute episodes of asthma in which intensive measures are needed. In addition, patients who are allergic to milk proteins or to any of the ingredients in ArmonAir Digihaler should not use it.
Cautions
- Before you begin using ArmonAir Digihaler, inform your doctor of:
- All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take
- Your allergies
- Your current health problems and past medical history
- Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- ArmonAir Digihaler should not be used as a rescue inhaler.
- ArmonAir Digihaler is associated with the following warnings and precautions:
- Localized infections, including fungal infections of the mouth and throat. Patients should be advised to rinse their mouth with water and spit after inhalation.
- Suppression of the immune system, including worsened tuberculosis, fungal, bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections or herpes simplex eye infections.
- Risk of adrenal function problems when transferring to ArmonAir Digihaler from systemic corticosteroid therapy. Patients should slowly taper off corticosteroids when transferring to ArmonAir Digihaler.
- Hypercorticism and adrenal suppression, especially with high dosages or normal dosages in patients who are susceptible.
- Decreased bone mineral density.
- Paradoxical bronchospasm.
- Pediatric growth should be monitored.
- Patients should receive close monitoring for glaucoma and cataracts.
Side Effects
Upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngitis, fungal infection of the mouth or throat, headache, and cough are common side effects associated with ArmonAir Digihaler; however, other side effects may also occur. Immediately inform your doctor of any side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
