Description
Alprolix (Coagulation Factor IX (Recombinant), Fc Fusion Protein) is a prescription treatment for bleeding episodes, management of bleeding during surgery, and prevention to help decrease the number of bleeding episodes in adults and children who have hemophilia B.
Alprolix is administered intravenously (in a vein).

Contraindications
Patients with an allergy to any of the ingredients in Alprolix should not receive it.
Cautions
- Before you begin receiving Alprolix, talk to your healthcare provider about:
- All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take
- Your allergies
- Your current health problems and past medical history
- Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur.
- Antibodies may form that can stop Alprolix from adequately working.
- Blood clotting problems can occur.
- Kidney problems can occur.
Side Effects
Headache, abnormal sensation in the mouth, and pain in your side with blood in the urine are common side effects of Alprolix. However, other side effects may also occur. Immediately inform your healthcare provider of side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
