    Directions

    Acuvail should be used as directed by your doctor. The recommended dose is to apply one drop to the affected eye two times a day beginning one day before cataract surgery and continuing through the first two weeks after surgery.

    Do not use Acuvail while wearing contact lenses.

    You may refer to the medication leaflet that comes with your prescription for further instructions for use.

    Store between 15oC to 30oC (59oF to 86oF) in the pouch, with pouch ends folded closed, away from light exposure. Use the solution from one single-dose vial immediately after opening and discard the remaining contents of the vial.

    Ingredients

    The active ingredient in Acuvail is ketorolac tromethamine, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

    Contraindications

    Patients with an allergy to any of the ingredients in Acuvail eye drops should not use it.

    Cautions

    • Before you begin using Acuvail, inform your doctor of:
      • All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use, including other eye medications
      • Your allergies
      • Your current health problems and past medical history
      • Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
    • Acuvail contains the following warnings and precautions:
      • Delayed healing
      • Hypersensitivity or cross-sensitivity
      • Increased bleeding time because of interference with thrombocyte aggregation
      • Keratitis or other corneal effects

    Side Effects

    Increased intraocular pressure, conjunctival hemorrhage, and blurry vision are common Acuvail side effects; however, other side effects may also occur.

    Immediately tell your doctor if you experience side effects that bother you or persist.
