Concealment is a big part of what allows harmful activity to go on as long as it does with parasites and parasitic activity, and it’s entirely true that fleas wouldn’t have as much leeway with biting pets if the animals weren’t covered in fur. Fleas are not so much of a problem for humans, but lice certainly can be and it’s on the scalp that you’ll find these microscopically-sized miscreants. But is it necessary for them to have the ability to conceal themselves from view with hair? This leads to asking do bald people get lice.  

Fleas would still hop onto a pet if they didn’t have fur, and no doubt there have been instances of a Manx or other hairless cat getting fleas.  All Not Equal
